This weekend in the world of soccer, there are some good games that will be played. From the Premier League, La Liga, and Bundesliga. These four matches are the most interesting and evenly matches that will be played across from Europe. Some teams will look to keep their top form up and running while others will look to bounce back and pick up an important win.
Arsenal vs. Manchester United
The Gunners are coming from an important away win against Southampton this past Tuesday. Although they were eliminated by this same team last Sunday in the FA Cup. The young Arsenal players have stepped up in the most recent games. Those being Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, and Gabriel Magalhães. Experienced players like Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Zhaka, and Nicolas Pépé have improved their game as well.
In addition to this, Arsenal have signed Martin Ødegaard on loan until the end of this season from Real Madrid. Indeed he will add more talent to a much needed team that really needs it to move up the table. The Gunners sit in 9th place with 30 points and need the win desperately.
On the other hand, Manchester United are doing much better, although they are coming from a surprising defeat at home against last place Sheffield United. The Red Devils are 2nd in the table with 40 points behind one point of city rivals Manchester City.
It is important to mention that Pierre–Emerick Aubameyang is doubtful to play this game due to his mother’s health issues. Clearly it will be a big blow for Arsenal as their star player is a vital piece in their starting team.
Unquestionably this match will be a great one has both teams need to win because of very different reasons. Last time these two met the Gunners took the win one to cero. No doubt United will want to win away this Saturday.
West Ham vs. Liverpool
The Hammers are enjoying a great run as of late. They have won their previous four games and come from defeating Crystal Palace in the local derby. They sit 5th place of the table with 35 points and are playing very well. It seems like their manager David Moyes has found is starting eleven team.
In contrast, Liverpool started off the year on a negative note and finally won this year as they beat Tottenham away 3-1 this past Thursday. They have been hit hard with injuries from important players in key areas. Nonetheless, The Reds have a caliber team to overcome this as they have the heart and fighting spirit of a champion.
The defending champions sit in 4th place of the table with 37 points and will look to get an important away win. Although, it will not be easy as West Ham will put up a fight and demonstrate why they are 5th place in the league.
Barcelona vs. Athletic Bilbao
Barcelona are currently in 3rd place of the league and are 10 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid. Los Blaugranas come from a narrow win this Wednesday in the Copa del Rey match against Rayo Vallecano. Clearly Barcelona are not playing like everyone wants them to, but they are winning the matches in the end.
Contrary to Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao sit in 9th place of the league with 24 points. Although, they defeated Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final in the last minutes of the game. No doubt that will give Bilbao a boost coming into this match and they also come from advancing to the next round of the Copa del Rey by winning this past Thursday.
Bilbao come in a good form as of late as they have won their last six games and have defeated Real Madrid and Barcelona along this winning streak. Indeed Barcelona will see this game as some sort of revenge and will look to win and keep themselves in the top three of the league.
