Patrick Schwarzenegger is starring in a newly released film called, Echo Boomers, alongside Michael Shannon, Alex Pettyfer, Oliver Cooper, and more. The film is based upon a true story about college graduates that profit off of stealing from the wealthiest and richest people in Chicago. For the release of the movie, Patrick promoted the movie on The Today Show and a Q&A on Instagram Live with @rottentomatoes, where he talked about the film, family, and upcoming projects.

Who is Patrick Schwarzenegger?

Patrick Schwarzenegger is a well known actor and model. He has previously starred in movies such as Grown Ups 2, Scream Queens, and The Long Road Home. In 2018, he starred in his first leading role in a film called Midnight Sun. In the film, he played Charlie Reed, who falls madly in love with Katie Price, played by Bella Thorne. However, he doesn’t know that Katie has a rare condition that prevents her from going out in the sunlight due to Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP). In 2019, Patrick also starred in Daniel Isn’t Real. The movie is about a troubled teenager, Luke, who resurrects his imaginary friend, Daniel, to help him cope with his problems in life and his relationships. It turns out though that Daniel is very dangerous as he tries to kill Luke as he did with his trying to kill his mother when he was younger.  He is also known for being the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver.

Talks about Family, Fame, and Movie

On Monday, November 9th 2020, Patrick Schwarzenegger appeared on The Today Show with Hoda & Jenna. They start off the interview with a short clip from the film, Echo Boomers, then Patrick appears via video chat instead of in-person. With a bright smile on his face, Patrick says it was awesome working with Michael Shannon and that it was a fun movie.

He also talks about how the movie compares to his brother’s life a little bit. He describes how his brother, Christopher Schwarzenegger, and also Chris’ friends graduated from University of Michigan earlier this year to have jobs lined up for them when they got out of school but due to the pandemic, it was no longer available. In the film though, the teens graduate college to find that companies still won’t hire them due to lack of experience and other reasons. Patrick says, “They go about it in the worst way possible.”

Patrick says how he moved back with his mother, Maria Shriver, in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. During their time in quarantine, they went on Instagram Live almost each weekday to talk to other people about how they are doing, keeping up with businesses, health, and more during the pandemic. “It was amazing because I don’t know the next time that I will ever be able to move back home with my mom and spend that much time with her,” said Patrick on how it feels to be back at home living with his mother.

Patrick talks about his experience with his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, about being on movie sets. Arnold appeared in a range of movies such as The Terminator, The 6th Day, Maggie, and others. Patrick says how his family is very proud of him and recalls how he went to sets with Arnold and used to love watching everything.

Echo Boomers

Patrick’s new film, Echo Boomers, was released digitally and in theaters on Friday, November 13th.  The film can be rented or bought on platforms such as YouTube, iTunes, RedBox, and other movie streaming platforms.

The movie starts off showing true story headlines from news stations about how a group of people are stealing from the rich. In the beginning, Patrick’s character, Lance talks to an author/ reporter who promises to tell his side of story. He tells the story of how he and his friends turned into criminals as it shows him locked up behind bars. Jack, Lance’s cousin, picks up Lance in a Porshe and also Jack mentions he has a job in the art world, which turns out to be a lie.

They show how Lance went on a numerous amount of interviews after graduating college to still not having a career. Lance then wonders what his cousin does and his cousin, Jack tells him he has something for him. He then learns what Jack does by getting dragged along to his dirty work. Mel Donnelly, played by Michael Shannon, is their shady retailer who sells all of the group’s stolen goods and gives them all a profit to share. Lance then takes a part of the job which includes stealing valueables from the rich, breaking the rest of the stuff in the houses they steal from, and spray paint walls and couches to get a message across.

Patrick on Instagram Live with @rottentomatoes

On the release day of his film, Patrick did a Q&A on Instagram Live with @rottentomatoes. He talks about his upcoming project, Moxie. The movie will be based on the novel and also directed by Amy Poehler. It will also star big names such as Hadley Robinson and Josephine Langford. On IMDb, it states it’s about “a Texas teenager that organizes a feminist revolution at her high school.” Patrick states in the Instagram Live that the movie is expected to come out in March of 2021. It will also appear on the streaming service, Netflix.
