Following the conclusion of week seven of the NFL, more injuries have occurred. Sadly, more big names have suffered injuries. Some of them have suffered season ending injuries while others will miss some games. This is just something a football fan doesn’t want to see, but it is something that every fan knows it can happen. Here are the biggest names who got injured this past weekend and will miss the activity of week 8.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Clearly, Odell Beckhams injury was a notable one this past weekend. Playing against the Cincinnati Bengals, OBJ suffered a long season injury as he has a torn ACL in his left knee. Beckham was trying to make a tackle after quarterback, Baker Mayfield threw an interception. OBJ had scored three touchdowns this season and was looking to boost that number up. Now he has to wait until next year and try to come back stronger.

Kenyan Drake

Indeed it is a big loss for the Arizona Cardinals, who loss their starting running back. Drake suffered a slight tear in a ligament in his ankle. He suffered the injury with around four minutes left in the game which went to overtime. He has four rushing touchdowns and has ran for 512 yards. He his expected to miss a few weeks, so Chase Edmonds will be the starting running back in the meantime for the Cardinals.

Andy Dalton

Absolutely, things got worse for the Dallas Cowboys, as their second in line quarterback suffered a concussion during the match against the Washington Football Team. He suffered the hit by linebacker, Jon Bostic, who got ejected from the game. Dalton will miss this weekends game, and will be replaced by the third string quarterback. He will be replaced by rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci, this Sunday against the Eagles.

Deebo Samuel

Definitely, a huge blow for the San Francisco 49ers as he was playing some great football since returning from injury in week four. Deebo is suffering a left hamstring strain and will most likely miss two games. Those being against the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. He will be replaced this Sunday Brandon Aiyuk.

Jeff Wilson

In addition to Deebo Samuel, the 49ers will also be without Jeff Wilson for at least three weeks. He has been listed on injured reserved and that is sad as he had a monster game this past Sunday. He scored three touchdowns and ran for 112 yards. So expect Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty to get a lot of playing time this weekend against the Seahawks.

Phillip Lindsay

Just like Andy Dalton, Lindsay suffered a concussion after he suffered a head to head hit with Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen. He will not be on the leagues concussion protocol but will left out of practice until he is cleared to play once again. Although, he did practice on Thursday and did some individual drills.

Chris Carson

Seattle Seahawks running back suffered a midfoot sprain against the Arizona Cardinals. He his considered week to week and will not be risked by coach Pete Carroll. If he is unable to play, Carlos Hyde will carry the load along with the rookie DeeJay Dallas this Sunday afternoon.

DeSean Jackson

It should be noted that Jackson had missed a month of football before returning to play this past Thursday. He suffered an ankle injury and will be out six to eight weeks. That means he is out for the remaining of the season. A huge blow for the Eagles as they have lost a talented player in Jackson. Travis Fulgham will now be the leading wide receiver for the Eagles.

Devonta Freeman

Along with DeSean Jackson, Freeman also suffered an ankle injury on Thursday night. He will be looked at carefully throughout the week to see if he is able to suit up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He did not practice on Tuesday, so we will have to wait where he stands next Monday night against the Bucs.

Big Names Missing Big Games

Consequently, all of these players will miss huge games for their respective teams. Each player has a big role to play for their team. Sadly, things like this happen every season and big names start to suffer injuries. There are other players who still haven’t recovered from injury and these big names are added to that list. Although, this is good for the bench players who have a chance to showcase their skills and take full advantage of the opportunity that is presented to them.

Other Big Names Still Injured

Unquestionably, Christian McCaffrey is one of the biggest names that is still injured. He is suffering a high ankle knee sprain and will not be in action this week. Dallas Goedert will be out until week 10, which is a big blow for the Eagles. Joe Mixon will most likely miss this weeks game and return week 10 as the Bengals will not play on week nine. Zach Ertz is suffering a high ankle sprain and hasn’t been given a time frame of when he’ll return. Raheem Mostert will be out for another two weeks minimum as he was placed on IR. This is a big loss for the 49ers.

Entertaining Week Up Ahead

In short, week eight will bring some good games for the fans despite the injuries of these talented players. Many teams will look to continue to keep playing great football, while others will look to bounce back up from suffering defeats. The Steelers will try to remain unbeaten against the Ravens in a great match.
