We may only be around halfway through Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, yet some of us — let’s be honest, most of us — are already looking to the future. Besides finding out who Matt ends up with in the end, there’s something else that Bachelor Nation is extremely curious about: the identity of the next Bachelorette.
Typically, the leading lady comes from a previous season of The Bachelor and there are plenty of ladies that fans are pushing for this year if they don’t end up with Matt. Abigail Heringer, the first deaf contestant in franchise history is a front runner, alongside the likable Michelle Young and Bri Springs.
Yet, according to Bachelor Nation insider, Reality Steve, production has already made their pick for the 2021 Bachelorette and it’s looking like it’s going to be Katie Thurston, the anti-bullying dildo toting queen of the season.
Katie’s Journey on The Bachelor
Right from the start, fans deemed Katie Thurston one to watch after she exited the limo with a dildo in hand. The 30-year-old Washington native showed she isn’t shy and continues to speak her mind throughout her journey. Not only is Katie open about sex positivity, but she’s all about empowering women.
Her standout moment happened when The Bachelor production introduced the four new girls into the mix. While some of the OG women exhibited a moblike mentality when it came to hating on the newbies, Katie bravely spoke out against the majority of the women, pointing out the bullying behavior. Then, when the situation wasn’t improving, she let Matt James in on the events occurring behind his back.
When it came to her relationship with Matt, the two of them got on pretty well. So, after they had a cute on-on-one that included pranking Matt’s BFF and former Bachelorette contestant, Tyler Cameron, it seemed there was no doubt that he was gonna give Katie a rose. This is why it was a total blindside for everyone – except Serena C apparently – when Matt said he couldn’t give her one.
Fans Root for Katie as The Bachelorette – Reality Steve Confirms Rumors?
Although Katie’s time on The Bachelor is seemingly over, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the last we’ll see of her in the franchise. Katie’s appearance on the show earned the bank marketing manager a lot of support from Bachelor Nation.
In recent days, it’s been rumored that she might become the next Bachelorette. Reality Steve actually confirmed this theory by saying a source from the Women Tell All special said they made the announcement that it was Katie.
Then, he retracted his statement about it happening at the WTA but is still confident that they picked Katie. Steve says he expects the news to come out sometime this week. “in regards to this tweet from Sat night, it’s wrong…& right. Katie was NOT announced as Bachette at WTA. Message I got was “it’s Katie and it came out at WTA.” I thought that meant it happened there. But I’ve been told it’s confirmed it’s Katie and she’ll be named this week.”

Chris Harrison Says Nothing is Official
Bachelor host Chris Harrison himself touched on the rumors. He said. “We did not name her or anybody the next Bachelorette during the Women Tell All special. In fact, we didn’t even talk who was the next Bachelorette.” So, if Chris is right, anyone could still be The Bachelorette, yet we have our fingers crossed for Katie.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
