The Premiere League is loaded with great games on matchday 28. With just 11 games left in the season it will be interesting what will happen in this weekend fixtures. Manchester City are 14 points ahead second place city rivals Manchester United. They will try to maintain or increase that lead this weekend. Here are the best games to watch this weekend on the Premiere League.
Leeds United vs. Chelsea
Leeds United are in the 11th spot of the league with a lot of ups and downs. Marcelo Bielsa has been heavily criticized for his style of play that he implements in his team. His all out attack leaves his team vulnerable in the back for which he has payed for in previous games.
On the other hand, Chelsea have been improving in their game under new coach Thomas Tuchel. They have yet to lose a match under his command and will continue just that when they visit Elland Road.
Chelsea will be without Brazilian central defender Thiago Silva and English striker Tammy Abraham. Leeds will be without Pablo Hernandez and Pascal Struijk. Indeed without these four players the match still remains a great one as both teams are ready to win.
Arsenal vs. Tottenham
The North London derby is one of the greatest rivalries in English soccer. Both of these teams and fans hate each other and want to beat the other so bad. Both teams are not doing so well in the league as Tottenham are in seventh place while Arsenal sit at 10th.
However, these derbies have produced some memorable games and this one quite surely will not disappoint. In their last meeting Tottenham won two goals to cero, so the Gunners will look for revenge this time around.
Both teams come from winning in the Europa League so, they both come in good form for the North London derby. Tottenham beat Dinamo Zagreb two to cero while Arsenal defeated Greek side Olympiacos at their home three goals to one. No doubt this clash will be a good one as both teams always play their finest game in this heated rivalry.
Manchester United vs. West Ham
Clearly an evenly fixture this one is as second place Manchester United host fifth place West Ham. If the Hammers win this match they will be three points behind the Red Devils in the table. So, there is a lot to be played for in this match.
Manchester United come from a devastating late draw against AC Milan in the Europa League. The Italian club scored near the end of the match and it was a huge blow for Manchester United to take an advantage to Italy.
The Red Devils will be short handed upfront as Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford will be unavailable to play. Mason Greenwood is the only senior player available on the attack.
West Ham are enjoying a great campaign under former Manchester United coach David Moyes. They have a legit chance to sneak into the top four and make it to the Champions League. They are two points behind fourth place Chelsea and have a clear chance to solidify themselves in fourth place. Indeed this game will be a great one to watch as both teams must win for different reasons.
Fulham vs. Manchester City
Fulham may be sitting at the bottom of the table at 18 place, but as of recent games have improved their game. They come from defeating Liverpool at Anfield and showcased some great soccer. The London side must win to stay away from relegation and will try to do just that against the league leaders at home.
On the other hand, Manchester City are at the top of the league and come from defeating Southampton five goals to two. They are indeed red hot and have recovered some key players from injury.
They will look to keep their winning form and keep a big lead against their city rivals Manchester United. No question that this game will be a tough one for City who will be playing away against a team who is desperate to win to avoid relegation.
Wolverhampton vs. Liverpool
No question that Wolverhampton have immensely missed Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez since his head injury against Arsenal. They lack a true goal scorer even though they brough Willian José from Spanish side Real Sociedad. He is still adapting to his new team and new country, which has seen him not score that much.
Liverpool have been playing poor as of recent and have just won one game in their last premier league clashes. Although, they have made it to the quarterfinals in the Champions League, so that could help them in the domestic league.
Clearly injuries have played a huge role in the Red’s game as they have a lot of key players missing and out for the whole season. Even so, this match is still an appetizing one as both teams want to win to climb up the table. Indeed this will be a great match that will force both teams to display their best game.
Entertaining Weekend Ahead
The Premier League no doubt will have some great games this weekend and we will see how they play out. Expect some surprises and a lot of goals from each game. Each team needs to win for various reasons which make the encounters a must see this weekend.
