In the world of social media influencers, few families can boast two superstars quite like the D’Amelio family. Charli and Dixie D’Amelio have been dominating on TikTok, and now they’ve teamed up to bring their sisterly energy to a podcast, Charli and Dixie: 2 Chix.
Who are the D’Amelio Sisters?
Younger sister Charli is 16, and is already worth a cool $4 million or so. On TikTok, Charli has over 91 Million followers. Her videos consist of light-hearted dances and supportive messages for her fans and followers. Charli even had her own drink named after her at Dunkin, based on her favorite order. Charli is a giant on the app, but sister Dixie is on her heels.
Older sister Dixie, 19, boasts 40 million followers on TikTok. The popular influencer produces content similar to her sister, with a lot of dance videos and light-hearted content. It was recently announced that she and Sway House member Noah Beck are an item, confirming rumors that had been swirling for awhile. Dixie’s collaboration with the Sway and Hype House members makes her a well-known name in the social media influencer sphere. Dixie’s net worth is close behind her sister’s at approximately $3 million.
The sisters previously worked with the Hype House but separated from them earlier this year. They maintain that their friendships with the house members have continued, however.
What Will the Podcast Focus on?
Given the sense of humor of both Dixie and Charli, listeners to their podcast are guaranteed fun. However, Charli has been known to discuss serious matters. The younger sister opened up about her struggles with an eating disorder, and other pressing social matters. E! reports, “‘I’ve always tried to use my voice when it comes to issues surrounding body image, but I’ve never talked about my own struggles with eating disorders,’ she said on her Instagram story. ‘It’s so uncomfortable to admit to even your closest friends and family, let alone the world.’
Charli added, ‘I need you to know you are not alone. Remember it’s ok to reach out and get help.’
The trained dancer has additionally been outspoken on social justice issues, condemning George Floyd’s death and telling fans, ‘I have a job to inform people on the racial inequalities in the world right now.’ Her Instagram profile pic declares, ‘Black Lives Matter.'”
Also per E!, “[Charli and Dixie] will open up on the podcast and allow fans ‘to really discover who Charli & Dixie D’Amelio are as individuals, daughters, sisters, friends and stars,’ according to a statement from production company Ramble.
The creatives added they are ‘excited for everyone to listen in while we cover interesting topics, share stories, tackle difficult conversations, engage with guests that we either love or completely disagree with — and of course, it’s all filled with nonstop sister banter.’
They’ll welcome special guests to their episodes and further talk about ‘the trends that are lighting up their social channels, talk about what excites them, what inspires them and whatever else is on their minds.'”
The First Episode Has Aired
The first episode of 2 Chix aired on October 8th, and it will be a weekly event.
On the first episode, the sisters dished about everything. The podcast description reads, “In their debut episode, Charli and Dixie discuss the making of the ‘Be Happy’ remix video (and why Charli wasn’t there), Charli’s fun cameo in J-Lo’s new video and what it was like being guest presenters for the iHeart Music Awards. Plus, the girls chat about the favorite concerts they’ve seen and the biggest challenges they face being on [social media] 24-7.”
At the start of the podcast, Charli says, “I want to talk about our innermost thoughts.” To which Dixie replies jokingly, “No.”
