The 2021 Latin American Music Awards will be taking place at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The biggest Latin artists will be taking the stage on a spectacular night that will showcase the best Latin artists at the moment. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect on a stunning night full of super stars of different genres.
Top Nominees
This year Colombians, Karol G and J Balvin, lead the list of top nominees at this years Latin American Music Awards. They are closely followed by Bad Bunny who has eight nominations and Ozuna who has 7. We will see who can take the most awards in a night full of great artists in all of the amazing categories.
New Category Added
Since the global pandemic has caused many concerts to be canceled, plenty of artists have done concerts virtually. However, many artist have done concerts virtually this year, and now the favorite virtual concert of the year category, was added. Performers Of The Night
Performers for this year are Gerardo Ortiz with mariachis, Anitta, Carrie Underwood, Manuel Turizo, Pitbull, Ricky Martin, Wisin, Yandel, Ziggy Marley, Alaina Castillo, Cami, Carlos Rivera, Juhn, Mariah Angeliq, Natanael Cano, José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma”, Joss Favela, Eslabon Armado, Sofía Reyes Karol G, Los Dos Carnales, Piso 21, Maluma, Myke Towers, and Yendry.
Other performers of the night are Ana Bárbara, Sergio Lizárraga’s Banda MS, Camilo, Nicky Jam, David Bisbal, Alejandro Fernandez, Ozuna and Karol G. Indeed, that the list of performers is a great one with a lot of variety to see. They will all showcase their talent, and we will see them hit the stage to entertain the people watching from home.
Several Artists Will Be Receiving Special Awards
It is great to see that this year, there will be several artists who will be recognized for their craft. One of those is the living legend, Jose Luis Rodriguez, mostly known as “El Puma.” He will be recognized with the Legend Award this year. No doubt that he is worthy of this award as he has had a wonderful career that has crossed borders and beloved by many.
“El Puma” has been making music for decades and it is great that he will be honored with this award has he is very deserving of it. No doubt he is a pioneer and a living legend that is loved in the Latin community. His music has been enjoyed by many people of various ages and continues to be looked up to.
Another top-notch artist receiving a special award is Mexican singer, Alejandro Fernández, who will be receiving the Icon Award. He’s had a stellar career and “El Potrillo, has collaborated with many big names. Those big names are Beyoncé, Marc Anthony, Christina Aguilera, Rod Stewart, Gloria Estefan, and Plácido Domingo.
He has no doubt made a name for himself despite having a famous father in Vicente Fernández. His music has been loved by many people from around the world and he has a lot of No.1 albums and songs to back that up.
The other artist to be given a special award is Puerto Rican reggaeton artist, Ozuna. He will be receiving the Extraordinary Evolution award. This will recognize his fast accelerated success in the music industry. Ozuna has developed into an international artist collaborating with huge artist from around the world.
The young star has reached success quickly and he is now a household name recognized by many people around the world. No question this is a big achievement for the young Puerto Rican artist.
Major Categories
In the major categories for the night include artist of the year. The nominees of this important category are Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, Christian Nodal, Daddy Yankee, Eslabon Armado, J Balvin, Karol G, Maluma, Ozuna, and Sech
In the next big category is album of the year. The nominees are Anuel AA – Emmanuel, Bad Bunny – YHLQMDLG, J Balvin – Colores, and Natanael Cano – Corridos Tumbados.
Lastly, the last one is song of the year. The nominees are Bad Bunny – “Yo Perreo Sola”, Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin – “Ritmo (Bad Boys For Life),” Karol G, Nicki Minaj – “Tusa” and Maluma & The Weeknd – “Hawái”.
For sure these are some big names in the best categories of the night. Whoever wins these major categories can go home very proud and happy as the categories have the best artists in them competing against each other.
