2020 hasn’t been everyone’s year. With all that’s happening in the world, it’s pretty easy to argue that this year sucked! Ariana Grande was able to find a silver lining within it all.
Just this year, the singer released an album, introduced us to her boyfriend, is releasing a Netflix documentary, and the cherry on top of it all — She just got engaged!
News broke out this week that the “34+35” singer got engaged to boyfriend Dalton Gomez. She showed off the rock to her followers on Instagram. “Forever [and] then some,” she said.
Fans and friends of Grande showed their support for the newly engaged couple. Kim Kardashian, Demi Lovato, Victoria Justice, James Charles, and Ashley Tisdale are just some of the many celebrities flooding her comments with “Congratulations!”
The year isn’t over and fans are patiently waiting for the release of the documentary for her “Sweetener World Tour” coming to Netflix this month.
All this comes just a few weeks after the release of her latest album, “Positions,” which gave us hits like “Positions” and “POV.” The album was well-received among critics and fans.
Take a look at the star’s craziest year and how she handled everything in the year 2020.
Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez
Fans were ecstatic when they found out Ariana had a new boyfriend. When she and Justin Bieber‘s music video for “Stuck With U” released, the two got a few of their close friends to send them clips with their partners. In the video, we can see Stephen and Ayesha Curry, Demi Lovato, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Chance the Rapper, Kate Hudson, and more showing how they were keeping love alive in their relationships during quarantine. Internet sleuths were quick to point out Grande dancing with Dalton at the end of the video. Luckily for you guys, we have everything you need to know about Grande’s relationship with Dalton.
Ariana and Dalton run in the same circles, so it was more than fate that brought them together. Fans first caught a glimpse of him in a video she posted where he’s seen playing with her dog, Toulouse.
There’s more to him than just being Ariana’s beau! He’s also a high-end real estate agent, known for selling houses in Malibu and other luxurious L.A. spots.
A close friend of the pair spilled to E! News all about the couple’s plans during quarantine together this year. “He used to be a dancer and they have many mutual friends,” they said, “She’s gotten to know him quickly with the quarantine. They’ve been spending a lot of one on one time at home.”
From there, the lovebirds have supported each other and even helped celebrate each other’s birthdays. For Grande’s 27th birthday (themed “Midsommar”), she posted a series of pictures including one hugging Dalton in the mix.
For his birthday, she posted a sweet message commemorating their time together. “HBD to my baby my best friend my fav part of all the days 🙂 I love u,” she said.
A Newley Engaged Couple
Although we get a peek through the curtain of the pair, Grande’s kept most of their relationship private. “Sharing special, personal life things that make u happy on the internet can be truly traumatic. I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself,” she said in response to Florence Pugh‘s comments about her relationship with Zach Braff.
Not everything is kept under wraps for the two since Grande shared news of her engagement with Dalton. Sources close to the couple told People the two are “thrilled” and are happier than ever.
Fans believe there is more to the ring than just a big rock. In 2014, Grande posted a photo to Twitter showing off a ring her “Nonna” made for her with the pearl from her grandfather’s tie pin. It looks strikingly similar to the pearl attached to her engagement ring. You be the judge!

Another Chart Topping Record
The newly engaged singer has more to celebrate this year! She released her latest album, “Positions,” in October. “Positions” is Grande’s 6th studio album. It became #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200, making her “the fastest accumulation of three No. 1 proper studio albums ever by a woman.”
“Positions” became the first single off the album of the same name followed by a music video. Later, she released “34+35” as her next single. BBC calls her album more mature and confident than her rest.
As for the tour, fans will have to wait for that. Grande revealed to The Zach Sang Show that she has no intention of going on tour just yet. “I don’t see it as a possibility and I don’t think I would feel safe. I don’t want to put my fans in danger,” she said. The singer toured last year for the “Sweetener World Tour,” which she says she enjoyed.
Just because there is no physical tour for “Positions,” doesn’t mean you can’t relive the “Sweetener World Tour” virtually. Netflix announced a documentary all about the “Sweetener World Tour,” just in time for the holidays!
Behind The Scenes of the “Sweetener World Tour”
Netflix announced a new documentary, “Ariana Grande: Excuse Me, I Love You.” The trailer shows an emotional Grande backstage before her London show. Netflix promises us a behind-the-scenes look into rehearsals for the London show for the “Sweetener World Tour.”
